Control-IQ™ Technology
Control-IQ is an advanced hybrid closed-loop technology designed to help increase time in range, as measured by CGM, helping reduce both highs and lows.
The t:slim X2 integrates directly with Dexcom G6® Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). The use of CGM is proven to give better management, so the option is there if you need it.
How do Insulin pumps work?
Like a healthy pancreas, insulin pumps deliver only one type of insulin. Using your personal settings, the insulin is delivered both continuously (basal) and in larger doses for meals (bolus).
Simple basal dosing
You can personalise your t:slim X2 Insulin Pump™ to deliver a varied amount of insulin to meet your changing needs throughout the day and night.
- Small basal dosing: 0.1 units per hour
- Small basal increments: 0.001 increments above 0.1 units
Simple bolus dosing
The t:slim X2 Insulin Pump allows you to deliver mealtime insulin - your bolus - using the simple, colour touchscreen and the integrated calculator with carbohydrate adding capabilities.
- Small bolus dosing: 0.05 units
- Small bolus increments: 0.01 increments above 0.05 units
There is also a 10 second delay after hitting deliver, to allow you to cancel if you change your mind.
How does CGM work?
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) provides real-time glucose readings every five minutes throughout the day and night, notifying you of highs and lows so you can respond.
Glucose data is sent wirelessly to your t:slim X2 Insulin Pump and compatible smart device via Bluetooth® technology.
A discrete sensor located just under your skin measures your glucose levels for up to seven days.
CGM provides up to 288 readings per day, giving you insights that finger tests can't match.

The t:slim X2 Insulin Pump integrates directly with Dexcom G6® Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), an approved system to let you make treatment decisions without pricking your finger.
